“Let’s build a better community!”

I’m here to solve local problems, support local people, and bring neighbors together—not pick political fights.

Matt Majerus

LOCAL BUSINESS OWNER IN CRYSTAL AND HASTINGS

I grew up in Apple Valley but my family moved often due to my father’s employment with General Dynamics.  I attended the U of M and Dakota Vo Tech for Automotive School.  I now own an auto repair shop in Robbinsdale with my second location in Hastings opening soon.  I’ve lived in Crystal with my wife and son for 14 years and my business ownership experience will bring a fresh perspective to the City Council.

Investing in community for a better tomorrow.

What's important to me

HELP MAIN STREET GROW

City-backed tax incentives for businesses that create jobs, improve vacant properties, or invest in the community.

LOWER THE COST OF GETTING INVOLVED

Reduce sponsorship and permitting fees for local businesses and organizations that want to support community events.

MORE OPEN CITY EVENTS

Create more opportunities for residents, businesses, nonprofits, families, and community groups to come together.

PARKS THAT BELONG TO EVERYONE

Consider tax incentives or city programs that encourage residents and businesses to help maintain, clean, beautify, and improve local parks.

STAND FOR ALL

Instead of telling people which flag, identity, race, or background they should stand behind, emphasize that every neighbor deserves a place at the table.

LESS DIVISION, MORE RESULTS

You don't have to agree with your neighbor on everything to work together on making the town safer, cleaner, stronger, and more prosperous.

Investing in community for a better tomorrow.

GROW MAIN STREET & LOCAL JOBS  •  BRING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER  • LESS DIVISION, MORE RESULTS

My priority is to make our city more prosperous by spending taxpayer dollars wisely. I would conduct a thorough review of every department, eliminate waste and unnecessary duplication, renegotiate contracts where possible, and focus funding on essential services and infrastructure. I would also pursue grants, public-private partnerships, and economic development that expand our tax base. My goal isn’t simply to cut budgets—it’s to improve efficiency, protect core services, and deliver better results for taxpayers.
